Lenten reflection...on life.

The question, "Where does one begin?" is easy to answer: "We must begin with a commitment never to intentionally kill, or collude in the killing, of any innocent human life."
--US Bishops,' Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities, 2001.

Do not be deceived by the 'smoke of Satan that is in the Church'(Pope Paul VI) today! The Catholic Health Care Association, nuns who sign declarations in favor of the current health care legislation, the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who yesterday invoked the name of St. Joseph in the same sentence as her promotion of this diabolical health care legislation, Joe Biden, who wears his Catholicity while promoting the most sweeping abortion language legislation this country has ever seen! And all Catholics and Christians in the House and Senate who neglect or reject the Church's teaching on life.
This is the smoke of Satan within the Church! Do not be deceived. They are apostates!
We need to be on our knees over the next 24 hours asking for the powers of heaven to defeat this legislation!

Prayer: Lord, give wisdom to Your people, that they may properly exercise their responsibility to defend life in every circumstance.em> --Fr. Frank Pavone, Pro-life Reflections for Every Day, 2009, p.34

Abortion is not health care!

"The Lord has given me the grace never to fear the conflict, to do my duty no matter what the cost."
--St. Therese of Lisiuex

The Second Vatican Council defines abortion, together with infanticide, as an "unspeakable crime." Gaudium et Spes, 59.
"Given such a grave situation, we need now more than ever to have the courage to look the truth in the eye and to call things by their proper name without yielding to convenient compromises or to the temptation of self-deception...procured abortion is the deliberate and direct killing, by whatever means it is carried out, of a human being in the initial phase of his or her existence, extending from conception to birth."--Pope John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae, p. 95.

"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness."
--Is., 5:20
On this Feast Day of St. Joseph let us pray to be the light in the darkness...

Mary, mother of the unborn...

"The Spirit of God has given us no cowardly Spirit."
--2 Timothy, 1:7

Let this be our prayer today...

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love you very much.
I beg you to spare the life of the unborn child
that I have spiritually adopted, who is in danger of abortion.
Let me live...
Let me walk into the sunshine...
Let me live...
Feel my mother's arms around me...
Feel my father's love surround me...
Be a part of God's creation...
Let me live...
--Bishop Fulton J. Sheen

The lie, or life?

And Jesus continued, "Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name? And then will I declare to them, I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers."
--Matthew, 7:21-23
Pope John Paul II has informed us that "the unconditional choice of life reaches its full religious and moral meaning when it flows from, is formed by and nourished by faith in Christ...with the light and strength of this faith, therefore, in facing the challenges of the present situation, the Church is becoming more aware of the grace and responsibility which come to her from her Lord of proclaiming, celebrating and serving the Gospel of Life."
--John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae, p.51
Our prayer today is that the powers of heaven, in union with our prayers, the prayers of the Church suffering and the Church triumphant will defeat this abomination--this LIE--called health care reform...let us Pray!

Matthew, chapter 7...continued.

And Jesus continued...

"Beware of false prophets; who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit. A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits."
--Matthew, 7:15-20
We cannot say, as Catholics and Christians that the current health care legislation that will be voted on this week will bear good fruit. We know that it is evil in its current form...how do we know? We know, because it does not value life. This is the most pro-abortion, pro-death legislation coming out of the nation's capital--EVER! The forces of evil are at work, and as Catholics and Christians we must beware of the the false prophets who disguise evil as good. Pray for the defeat of this legislation. If you know the St. Michael Prayer, pray it daily-- we have a moral imperative to defeat the powers of EVIL.

Matthew, chapter 7...

This week, the US Congress will be voting on the so-called 'health care reform' legislation. This legislation mandates tax-payer funded abortion. This is a battle between the forces of Truth, and the forces of moral relativism, which on its face is spiritual death. This week then, brings this nation to the place where its citizens must take a moral stand against government--we the people--sponsored death.
Thus, for this week let us reflect on this vital chapter in Holy Scripture...

"Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few."--Matthew, 7:13-14
We have a moral obligation to oppose this 'death legislation.' Call or email your congressman/woman and US Senators--let them know that you oppose this legislation.
